Irish projects win at European eLearning Awards
Congratulations to Conor Kelly (Moyle Park College) and Donal O'Mahony (Portmarnock Community School) who both took major honours at the European eLearning Awards.

The eLearning Awards acknowledge teachers’ and schools’ best practices in the pedagogical use of ICT. Established eleven years ago they act as a showcase for teachers' creativity and technical skills, and at the same time show to a wider audience how ICT helps improve  methodology, enriches classroom work and positively impacts on children’s learning.

ACER gold award for collaborative learning

Winner - Conor Kelly (Moyle Park College, Ireland) Filming the Poem
Project involved classes of students in different schools making a literary film. Each class selected a poem in their native language and made a film of the poem.

Europeana bronze award for Europe’s digital heritage

Winner - Donal O' Mahony (Portmarnock Community School, Ireland) 20g Blogs
Project involves second year students creating History blogs where they individually look at a subject's contribution to History.

There were eight entries submitted from Ireland out of a total entry of 573 projects.
