What is the site about?
Covering terms from a wide range of themes, this site presents interactive games for improving vocabulary.

Why was it chosen as site of the week?

It was chosen because:

• Improving vocabulary has wide appeal
• It features age-old vocabulary games such as crosswords, hangman, wordsearches, quizzes, match games and jumbles  - with a bonus, i.e interactivity
• There is a section called SAT preparation and although it is geared towards the US education system, the definitions database and quizzes are excellent for reinforcement learning and improving vocabulary skills in general
• The games are also graphical and engaging
• Themes are sorted alphabetically
• There is a mailing list, which promises to inform you of updates
• You can select various levels of difficulty and game length
• There is an option to print

How can it be used as an educational resource?

This site may be used in multiple ways as it is ideal for print-and-do exercises,  projecting games onto a dataprojector for whole class participation and completion and for individual learning.

Most classes from primary to post primary will find merit in the games mainly due to the fact that you can choose an appropriate level and theme. However, the SAT section is probably most suited to post primary level.
