Education site designed for the Irish education system which will help Secondary school students to revise for exams.

What is the site about?

It provides interactive lessons, study notes and exam guides on a wide range of subjects at Junior and Leaving Certificate level.

Why was it chosen as site of the week?

• At the moment it is featuring a Question and Answer forum, where Leaving Certificate students can share information and advice about Irish, English, French, Maths, Biology and Geography.
• It includes Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate exam centres with study guides, model answers, checklists and revision tips.
• It covers 12 senior cycle subjects and 9 junior cycle subjects at both higher and ordinary level.
• The homework zone provides year planners for all subjects.
• There is an Ask the Expert facility.
• A Junior physics investigation tool, designed for Junior Certificate Science students, is available to download in the "My Skoool" section.
• There is a wide range of interesting educational articles for parents, teachers and students.
• Transition Times, articles aimed at Transition Year students and published in the Irish Times, are available to read online.

How can it be used as an educational resource?

This site will be useful for all post primary students revising for exams, particularly those doing the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate exams.

If there is access to a data projector or an interactive whiteboard, the Interactive lessons (with the i symbol) will work well for a whole-class, teacher-led revision session. Interactive lessons are available for English, Maths, Science, Business and French at Junior Certificate level. For Leaving Certificate level they are available for Business and French.

As a revision class, teachers of other subjects may ask students to click on the relevant subject and compile 10 key points. Student could then discuss their individual lists in small groups which would help to consolidate their revision.
