Closes 1 November. EU Galileo Drawing CompetitionArt competition open to children age 9 – 12 years. Each child must submit a piece of artwork based on the theme ‘space and aeronautics’. Entrants can use any drawing or painting. The prize is to have one of the new European Galileo satellites named after the winner.

F1 in SchoolsStudents must design a 1/20th-scale F1 racing car capable of travelling
at over 110km/hr using advanced 3D design software, automated
manufacturing technology . . . and some bright ideas.
Schools Across Borders - Creative WritingA professional writer, Seamus Cahsman, advises students on writing across a number of themes. Students then complete a story and one of them is named Writer of the Year. This event is run in conjunction with Poetry Ireland.
