Online encyclopaedias - teachers' home access

Teachers can now access Encyclopaedia Britannica and World Book Online from home once they have completed the Scoilnet Teacher Registration Form. Registering teachers will need to have a Teaching Council number in order to do this.
The next Encyclopaedia Britannica webinar is on Tue Sept 21. Prior registration required.

Schools required for Irish-Africa link

The Link Community Development Schools Programme facilitates two-way curricular based learning between Irish and African schools. It is currently seeking Irish schools to link with schools in Ghana, Malawi, South Africa or Uganda. Great programme.

Site of the Week

CBBC Newsround
Provides news stories in a child-friendly way. Current affairs, sport, music, animals are among the topics covered and the site also provides resources for teachers.

Since schools re-opened Scoilnet's Storytime has had a flood of new stories on topics like my summer holidays, poetry, sleepovers, all about me and much more. Storytime is a great way to engage children's creative writing. All stories are approved before they go live.
