What is the site about?
The site is a series flash based animated activities based on ways in which energy may be saved in the home. It presents a pictorial view of a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom and asks students to identify five items which would help save energy. Once the five items have been chosen students can prgress to the next activity.

Why was it chosen as site of the week?It was chosen because:
- The site was recently developed and is topical, given Ireland's recent water shortages
- The language is child-friendly and an audio of each key message is provided
- It's based around a very simple concept of identifying areas/items
within a house in which energy can be saved This is portrayed in a
visual, engaging and interactive manner which appeals to most learners
- There are four short and simple activities which may cater for learners with low attention spans
- An Irish language, an accessible version for screenreaders and a HTML version are also available
- Extra facts are available on compeletion of each activitiy
- It inlcudes a 10 question quiz at the end and the ability to choose different levels of difficulty
- Teacher Notes are also available
How can it be used as an educational resource?The site is ideal for primary students age 7-12 and posssibly 1st and 2nd year post primary students. The site would also benefit students with special education needs. It would be best used in student-led scenarios for individual based learing or group learning as a reinforcement actitivy or for suplementing a teacher-led lesson on the topic of saving energy.
