What is the site about?

Focusing on thirteen different languages, this site primarily offers simple audio and pictorial based resources for learning vocabulary and grammar.

Requires Media Player and speakers or headsets.

 Why was it chosen as site of the week?

It was chosen because:

  • It is such such a simple but effective site, i.e., a picture of an item is presented whereby you roll over it to hear its name
  • It covers a wide range of topics, including, animals, at home, clothes, business, colours etc,.
  • The french section is particularly good as it includes a section on grammar and readings
  • There are at least five categories of topics for each language
  • Topics for each language are presented clearly and follow a consistent format.

    How can it be used as an educational resource?

    The site is suitable for anyone new to a language or seeking to improve their comprehension, grammar and vocabulary skills.

    It is ideal for self-paced learning in addition to teacher-led presentations.
