What is the site about?

Aimed at ages 12-20 and consisting of  4 modules this comprehensive education programme takes students through the basics of banking, financial management, opening a bank account, managing money on a day-to-day basis and understanding debt.

Why was it chosen as site of the week?

It was chosen because:

  • The site has recently relaunched with a new site, enhancing its already very comprehensive modules with additional curricular based material and engaging tools
  • An excellent media gallery is available enabling you to search by subject (SPHE, Maths, Enterprise) or media type (case studies, quizzes, fact files, videos, etc)
  • Each module contains is a self contained unit including a wide range of resource types, such as short video clips, animations, interactive activities and other activities based on real life scenarios/dilemmas
  • Information is age appropriate and clearly written to appeal to the three different audiences targeted.
  • Interactive tools to help you plan your weekly budget, cut back on spending and make saving a goal are engaging and user-friendly
  • There are comprehensive teachers' notes which include print resources, detailed timings and an excellent video introduction. Registration is required for this area.
How can it be used as an educational resource?

The site is perfect for teacher led learning, project work, individual learning, assessment and curriculum reinforcement.
