http://www.scienceunleashed.ie/Enjoy Science Week with this Junior Cycle Science website featuring videos, games, quizzes, weblinks and notes.

What is the site about?
Science
Unleashed is a support website for teachers and students in the
adoption and delivery of the revised Junior Cycle science curriculum
recently introduced in Ireland. It is part of a collaborative project
between RTE and the National Centre for Technology in Education (an
agency of the Department of Education and Science).
Why was it chosen as site of the week?
It was chosen because:
-
It is a great site for using during Science Week
-
It's highly interactive and engaging, featuring notes, interactive games, quizzes and weblinks on a wide range of science topics
-
It comprises 15 videos (each 12 minutes in length)
-
There is an excellent graphics section which allows
users to download a wide selection of chemistry, biology and physics
related images
-
It presents the best of the web with reviews of over 60 websites
-
The content for Science Unleashed has been created in consultation with Irish teachers
How can it be used as an educational resource?
Science Unleashed is completely aligned to the Junior
Cycle syllabus. Students can explore a topic of interest as
an extension of what's been covered in the classroom or as a means
of revision. The games section is a good place to start.
Teachers may use the graphics section in the creation
lesson plans or present one of the reviewed sites to the class using a
data projector. The NobelPrize.org is a good website to display.
