What is the site about?
The Big Test is an Irish website that allows you to play various educational, multiple-choice tests for free in order to raise money to purchase life saving medication. Pick a test, choose the correct answer & 1 spoon of lifesaving Oral Rehydration Solution is donated via GOAL.

Why was it chosen as site of the week?
It was chosen because:
- It uses quizzes and tests in an interesting and engaging way
- The site encourages active and investigative learning
- It has a variety of tests aimed at all levels of education (and beyond!)
- It covers a variety of subject areas
- It reinforces topics already studied or could be used as an initial stimulus to examine prior knowledge of a subject/topic
- The site is easy to use and provides clear instructions
- It provides further information about charitable work
- It was created by experienced teachers
- It has contributions from Don Conroy, Conor Faughnan and Senator David Norris.
How can it be used as an educational resource?
The website has a variety of subject areas at both primary and post primary level. It is a fun and interesting way of getting pupils and students to test their knowledge without the pressure of a formal 'exam'. They get a sense of reward and satisfaction when they achieve a correct answer, whilst also helping a charity. They also can re-do tests to ensure they have the correct knowledge.
The website could be used by teachers at the end of a topic to reinforce learning or at the start to gain an idea of the prior knowledge a pupil/student has.
There are also tests for 'everyone', so the pupils/students can go home and let others test their knowledge! This provides a nice link between school and home.
