What is the site about?

The site presents a set of activity-based resources for Maths, English and Irish. These are available in Pdf format and span across many strand units of the primary curriculum. The site belongs to a former teacher in the Irish education system who also is co-author of the popular  Mathemagic textbook series.

High-speed broadband desirable.

Why was it chosen as site of the week?

It was chosen because:

  • There is a wide choice of activities in each section, particularly Maths
  • Each subject area has a print and do element
  • The English section comprises an engaging bingo games based on dolch words
  • Almost 40 resources are available for Maths, an overveiw of which is contained here
  • An outline of how each resource in tied into the curriculum is conveyed
  • There are several ideas for class projects such as poster projects and projects about your locality
  • Instructional guides on how to make a Viking ship from a cereal box and a cat mobile for Hallowe'en are also available

How can it be used as an educational resource?

The majority of these resources are games or are intended to be completed by students as a print and do activities. These resources relate to the curriculum in the following ways:

Maths: Number, Number operations, Measures, Shape and Space
English: Receptiveness to language
Irish: Ag tuiscint teanga, ag usáid teanga
