Comparing Titanic with Modern Cruise Ship

Added: 09 Apr 2014 Contributor: Scoilnet Resource type:

Compares the Titanic with a modern cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas. The Titanic which was the biggest ship of its time (1912) is quite small when compared with a modern liner. This blog compares the various features of both – berths, gym facilities, rudder and lifeboats.

How it maps to the curriculum

SESE History

Strand: Continuity & Change Over Time

Strand unit: Transport

Suggestions for use: Useful site to show how transport has changed through the years. It is a blog site so does contain comments etc, but the factual information is very good and the comparison images are strong and will interest children. Show on class computer or IWB
