Prizewinning student project from the 1916 section of the All-Island History Competition 2016 that explores the role played by Liverpool-born Piaras Béaslaí in the Easter Rising. The paper explores his background and his reasons for involvement with the Volunteers as well as his subsequent election as an MP for Kerry East in the 1918 election. Written by Conor Berney and Aaron O'Rourke.
