3D Shapes in Real Life - Video

A really cool song for pupils to learn in remembering the different 3D Shapes around us. After the video, pupils must write an alphabet list for different real life objects of applications of a 3D shapes in the classroom. Eacg group must thing a different 3D shape.

Content objective:
This resource should enable a child to:

  • identify, describe and classify 3-D shapes, including cube, cuboid, cylinder, cone, sphere, triangular prism, pyramid
  • identify, describe and classify 3-D shapes, including, cube, cuboid, cylinder, cone, sphere, triangular prism, pyramid

Suggestions for use: Use the sing to introduce the many 3D shapes around us in our everyday life. After the video, pupils must create as many options as possible that are either a cone, square, rectangular, sphere or cylinder. Next task, provide straws and sellotape to every group. Each group must create different shapes using the straws given to them.

Suggestions for use: Use the video to introduce the angles that are in 3D shapes. Pupils can create the 3 D shapes using straws and sellotape in groups. After each group create a 3D shapes. Pupils must measure the angles in the 3 D shapes using a projector.
