A video by Minis, Øistein showing students & teachers how to create a spider out of a paper cup. All you need is a paper cup, a black marker, some glue, scissors, pencils, white paper and red and black paint! The video gives a simple step-by-step instruction in how to create the spider.

Content objective:
This resource should enable a child to:

  • explore and experiment with the properties and characteristics of materials in making structures

Suggestions for use: Provide cups with a planning sheet of paper. Explain to the class that each group will be given paper cups to construct a spider. Ask each group to brainstorm how they will create a standing spider that wont fall over using the material provided. After time given, get groups to present their ideas. Show the class the video idea. Provide groups with material to create their designs.
