This resource provides a link to an episode from the BBC series, Come Outside. Auntie Mabel is filling in at the school canteen, serving carrots to the children. She then explores how carrots grow and how they get from the field to the dinner plate.

  • discuss and explore some qualities and categories of food
  • explore food preferences and their role in a balanced diet

Suggestions for use: Show this video during a teaching module on Healthy Eating - integrates to SESE as it also teaches about how a carrot grows, as well as the role of the farmer in producing carrots.
