Schools are invited to trace a family tree back to 1916. This can be a family tree of a student, group of students, past student, teacher, principal, a local community figure or anyone else considered appropriate by the schools and teachers.
Learning Resources listed on this page may help with the research, especially the project support notes for teachers. Local libraries, parish and community groups, and active retirement groups may also be a source of information.
The projects will be uploaded to Scoilnet and publicly available for people to browse and learn from.
Once you have your ancestry project finalised, add it to the Scoilnet website.
The form is very easy, and you can add the project as a document or PowerPoint presentation using the upload tool.
Login to your teacher dashboard and add your text.
Take a look at the interesting people who belonged to our school communities around the country. Students and teachers have used a range of online and offline tools to research and collate information on their ancestors.
Browse the ancestry projects already submitted.
