Welcome to Engineers Week 2022!
The PDST Primary STEM team in partnership with Scoilnet Primary invites you to spring into Engineers Week with spring themed Design and Make activities suitable for all class levels.
The design and make aspect of our Science Curriculum compliments the engineering process. “The focus of a design and make curriculum can come from any response to a human need. Involvement in designing and making activities should awaken an interest in how processes are applied in everyday situations and how common tools, objects, appliances and machines work” (Science Curriculum, 1999, p. 8).
Have fun and please feel free to share photos with us on Twitter tagging @PDSTPrimarySTEM & @ScoilnetPrimary. We’d love to see how your pupils are enjoying Engineers Week!
"Designing and making is a process which draws on the whole curriculum and should be developed in association with and through visual arts, science and mathematics" (Science Curriculum, 1999, p. 8). Encourage your pupils to follow the design and make process (as outlined in the image) while engaging in a challenge.
