FameLab aims to be bigger than ever and they are currently in the process of looking for new and exciting voices in science communication. In case this is the first time you’re hearing about FameLab, it’s an international science communication competition that encourages those who are passionate about all things STEM to communicate a topic of their choice to a lay audience. Topics range from the weird to the wonderful, and participants are marked on their charisma, their content and their clarity – making an exciting and fun event for all involved. FameLab has been operating in Ireland for the last six years, generously supported by the Science Foundation of Ireland with a host of other funding and delivery partners.
Winners of the Dublin heat will go on to the all-expenses-paid masterclass and national final in April 2019 to compete for a cash prize of €1,500 and a trip to a UK science festival. FameLab alumni frequently comment on the benefits of taking part and many find it to be a door to international science opportunities.
