Our World Irish Aid Awards

The 2017 theme 'For People and Planet', invites pupils to learn about the Global Goals and how Irish Aid is working to create a better world and a better future for children living in poverty.

The Our World Awards seek to enable pupils to learn about the lives of children and their families in developing countries and how Ireland, through Irish Aid, and 192 other countries in the United Nations are working together to create a safer and fairer world, and a better future for all the world’s children.

Some ideas for projects could include:

  • Focusing on what school is like in one of Irish Aid’s partner countries in Africa or Asia
  • Comparing your average day with that of a child in the developing world
  • Exploring why education is so important for all children
  • Exploring ways you can help children in the developing world escape hunger and poverty.
