International Human Rights Day

Sunday, 10 December 2023

International Human Rights Day has been observed every year since 1950. It is held on December 10th to mark the anniversary of the General Assembly's adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In the classroom: Spend some time exploring World Book to see what is meant by human rights and how they have developed through the years. The PDF booklet What Are Human Rights? is very visual and useful for class demonstration.
