Well done to Rahealty National School of Thurles Co. Tipperary for winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!

Rahealty National School's website has an easy to navigate layout with good use of space and colour. Visitors to the site are greeted with a photo of the school on the homepage as well as details on how to contact the school. The homepage doubles up as a blog or newsfeed with events, photos and videos embedded in chronological order. Users can scroll back through past events as if they were looking at a social media feed. The navigation bar at the top contains only six tabs which makes the site extremely user friendly and easy to navigate.

Each navigation tab contains a dropdown menu so that users of the site can quickly and easily find what they need. The About Our School contains information on the school staff, latest news and philosophy of the school. The Introduction section outlines the sheer volume of school and class based initiatives such as team teaching, GAA training, Irish Dancing, Green School Committees to name but a few. The For Parents section provides easy access for parents to vital information such as school policies, booklists and useful websites (we're delighted to see Scoilnet included in this list!). The For Kids section contains useful links across a range of subjects to help pupils reinforce their learning in school through use of digital technologies in the home.

The School Life section of the website highlights the various activities and achievements of Rahealty N.S. The sports section highlights the achievements of the GAA, cross country and soccer teams. There is also a section on the Debating and Green School's Committee. The school awards a Student of the Week and Gaeilgeoir na Seachtaine each week and photos of the awards winners can be found in the School Life section. Each class has their own dedicated section on the site which showcases the hard work of the teachers and pupils such as electrical circuits, pottery, colourful kites, Friendship Week and chess.

Rahealty National School's website is well maintained and kept up to date and reflects the pride that the pupils, teachers, staff and parents take in the school. Well done on winning Scoilnet's Star Site award!
