Congratulations to Sanford Parish NS for being awarded Scoilnet.ie Star Site. The school's website has a simple layout and with navigation buttons down the left hand side of the homepage. Visitors to the site are greeting with a photo slider which shows the various pictures of activities within the school. The school's homepage also provides links to the school calendar, school news, Green Schools, Seachtain na Gaeilge and Webwise.
Each navigation tab contains a wealth of information for visitors to the site. In the About Us tab, there is information on the staff, school holidays, Seachtain na Gaeilge, the school library and the school choir to name but a few. There is also an ICT section which details how the school is updating its IT equipment by purchasing laptops and Interactive Whiteboards and how they plan to spend their IT grants in the future.
The school also contains a tab on the school's various policies such as enrolment, behaviour, homework and healthy eating making them very accessible to parents. Each class in the school is given their own dedicated page under the Classes button. This gives individual classes the opportunity to post photos and catalogue all the great work and interesting projects they are producing. The school has a very active Parent Teacher Association which produces a newsletter detailing their work and activities such as organising chess, soccer and hockey.
This a very simple and straight forward website that is well maintained and provides invaluable information to parents, pupils and the community about the school's activities. Well done!
