Scoil Cholmcille Junior School

Scoil Cholmcille Junior School
Ballybrack, Co. Dublin

Well done to Scoil Cholmcille Junior School for winning Scoilnet’s Star Site Award. Visits to the schools website are greeted with simple colours and an easy to navigate layout. Six tabs are placed across the top of the page with each tab having a dropdown menu which makes finding information quick and easy for the user. The school has also placed the most important information for their school on the home page such as info on school lunches, communion and school closures.

The site is well maintained and updated regularly. One of the tabs at the top of the page contains a school calendar which keeps the community and parents informed of school events. The website also contains information on the school such as their history, achievements and programs and school’s policy.

Each class has its own dedicated section on the website which details all the happenings in each class such as maths trails, artwork and science lessons with magnets. A very useful feature of each class page is letting the pupils and parents know which days are for tracksuits and going to the library.

There is also a dedicated section for parents on this website which contains information about the Parent’s Association as well as providing links to useful websites ranging from child protection to road safety (no sign of Scoilnet though!).

This is a simple and easy to use website that provides an essential link between the pupils, parents, school staff and the surrounding community. Well done!
