Star of the Sea BNS
Sandymount, Dublin 4

Congratulations to Star of the Sea BNS on winning Scoilnet’s Star Site Award! Star of the Sea is an all-boys school in Sandymount Dublin 4. The school’s website has a very sleek and clean design. The homepage features a photo slider featuring pictures of school activities as well as awards such as Digital School of Distinction.

The website is well maintained with up to date information on closures and school events. A nice feature of the website is that each tab is colour coded which makes it extremely easy to navigate. Each tab contains various information relevant to the school such as Policies, About the School and a Parents & Students section.

Parents and Students have their own dedicated section on the site. The section is divided into two columns with parent’s information on the left and pupil’s information on the right. This is an excellent way of keeping parents informed of workshops, closures and school events. The pupil’s section contains the numerous activities and achievements of the boys such as cross-country running, Gaelic football and boxing!

The site also has a section for Nath na Seacthaine which shows how the school are promoting the use of Irish among the pupils both in the school and at home. This sections contains easy to use every day Irish phrases and also contains the English translation which makes it accessible to parents.

Star of the Sea’s website has a simple layout, is easy to navigate and is well maintained with up to date information. Congratulations on winning Scoilnet’s Star Site Award!
