Quadblogging

Quadblogging connects your class with three other schools around the world to provide an opportunity for students to blog with each other.

How it maps to the curriculum

JC
English

Strand: 03. Writing

Strand unit: 04. Write in a Range of Text Forms (E.g Blog)

Suggestions for use: Once the teacher has registered you will be assigned to a group of four blogs – a Quad. Each Quad has a co-ordinator that ensures a smooth communication process. Each cycle lasts 4 weeks with each member of the Quad having one week in the spotlight. During your week in the spotlight as the focus school/class your blog will be visited by the other Quad members and comments left. Time can be given during a lesson to comment on the blogs from the other schools as a group. While the class can work on their own blog during their designated week. The deal is that you also visit the other members’ blogs when they are in their focus week.

Why is it Resource of the Week?

This website allows you to connect your classroom with three other classrooms around the world. You can hear different perspectives on a topic and discuss different opinions. Once you sign up you are assigned 3 different classes to blog with, you then liaise with the teachers from these classes to decide on discussion topics. Each of the 4 classes will have an allocated week to post blogs while the others comment on them. A great way to get a new perspective on a class debate or project topic.
