Why is it Resource of the Week?

The Phonics International Programme is a systematic, synthetic phonics programme written by one of the leading experts in this field, Debbie Hepplewhite. Whilst many resources are free to use on this website, an annual subscription gives access to all – which provides a detailed phonics scheme that can be used throughout the entire school. As this is a synthetics phonics programme, it compliments other programmes such as Jolly Phonics, but it can be used in its entirety as a stand-alone programme. Debbie Hepplewhite also consulted on the ORT Floppy’s Phonics series of books which are commonly used in Irish classrooms, and the resources available here support these books too. A forum where advice can be sought and given is also available, as well as links to the Phonics International Training online training programme.

For any teacher truly interested in teaching phonics in a structured, systematic and meaningful way, this website is a must.
