Sunday, 1 September 2019

Muharram sometimes also refered as Al-Hijra  is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of the four sacred months of the year. The word Muharram means “forbidden”, and many Muslims fast during this period.

The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, so  Muharram moves from year to year when compared with the Gregorian calendar, which is solar based.
