Decade of Centenaries

The decade 2012-2022 is categorised as the ‘decade of centenaries’ as it marks the centenary of a number of important historical events that occurred in the period 1912-1922, and which formed a vital role in the formation of the Irish and Northern Irish states.

The following pages have links put together by a History teacher and are intended as an introduction to these events. They are aimed at teachers and students of post-primary History.

Teachers might find newspaper archives particularly useful in engaging students with this period in History.
