Co-Ordinate Geometry
The purpose of this collection is to encourage students to investigate properties of points, lines and line segments in the co-ordinate plane so that students can find and interpret the midpoint and slope of a line.
Originally, the resources were created for a first year class.

Midpoint of a Line

Suggestions for use: After completing the lesson of introducing the co-ordinate plane. This PowerPoint can be used to teach students about the MidPoint of a line and how to get it. The presentation also shows students how the formula for the midpoint comes about. There are practice exercises. I would recommend the teacher creating a plickers quiz. Suggestions for use: After briefly introducing the Midpoint of a Line, I would have students complete this worksheet. It is a good revision of how to plot points. This does not have students find the midpoint using the formula.
