In the 1960's, one significant instrument in bringing about change was the new television service. The case study, The Impact of RTÉ, offers students the opportunity to see how developments in communications media can trigger significant social and cultural change. In exploring issues of causation with students, we have a great opportunity to develop their ability to think critically, which is one of the stated objectives of the syllabus, and an increasingly cherished aim of senior cycle education.
