Learning Outcomes

Students studying at FL, OL and HL should be able to:

  • select and use suitable strategies to find the area of the following plane figures: disc, triangle, rectangle, square, and figures made from combinations of these
  • select and use suitable strategies to estimate the area of a combination of regular and irregular shapes

Students studying at OL and HL should be able to:

  • use the trapezoidal rule to approximate area
