Suggestions for use: Set up stations within your class. Every station will need to first research the animal they are to create. Allow time for pupils to think of imaginative ways this can be done. Promote each group with the printed images of the animal they are to design with the required materials. (place in plastic box so easy to clean up and hand out)

This resource should enable a child to:

  • become aware of ways in which the environment can be polluted or harmed
  • identify, discuss and appreciate the natural and human features of the local environment
  • identify, discuss and implement simple strategies for improving and caring for the environment

Suggestions for use: Every day is an Earth day is a good stimulation to use with younger students in developing awareness on pollution and how we can clean up our community by sorting rubbish into categories.
If possible with ipads, students can sort the rubbish in their groups then feed back as a class group. Alternatively, use display on the board.
