become aware of ways in which the environment can be polluted or harmed
identify, discuss and appreciate the natural and human features of the local environment
identify, discuss and implement simple strategies for improving and caring for the environment

Suggestions for use: Every day is an Earth day is a good stimulation to use with younger students in developing awareness on pollution and how we can clean up our community by sorting rubbish into categories.
If possible with ipads, students can sort the rubbish in their groups then feed back as a class group. Alternatively, use display on the board.
