Britannica School Webinars

Encyclopaedia Britannica are running a series of short 30 minute webinars to explore how the service can be used to help teachers in Ireland. Full listing below.

 

The Britannica School website is now available anywhere, anytime in the Republic of Ireland. It contains a comprehensive range of age-appropriate resources that feature factual information, multimedia and interactivity.

Why use Britannica?

Teachers have access to a wide range of engaging multimedia resources that complement their lessons. Parents can support learning at home knowing that children can pursue topics of interest in a safe learning environment.

So, pick the level that best suits you and your students and get started!

Britannica School Foundation (Ages 5-10)
Britannica School Intermediate (Ages 10-14)
Britannica School Advanced (Ages 14 and up)

 

Britannica will host a series of webinars in the coming months to help you familiarise yourself with the website and its many wonderful resources.

Thursday 5th May, 4:00pm - Explore Britannica through Scoilnet!

Tuesday 10th May, 11:00am - Study Skills with Britannica

Wednesday 1st June, 12:00pm - Keeping Young People Engaged during Summer

Tuesday 6th September, 4:00pm - Planning lessons with Britannica School

Wednesday 5th October, 4:00pm - Teaching effective research skills through Britannica

Wednesday 2nd November, 4:00pm - Making differentiation easier with Britannica!

Thursday 8th December, 4:00pm - Essay Writing Skills

Thursday 12th January, 3.30pm - Creating Engaging Presentations with Britannica

Registering for a Scoilnet Account – your first step to contributing and sharing

What you need...

To register for a Scoilnet Account you will need to have a Teaching Council number and a roll number for your school in Ireland.

If you already have a Scoilnet Account then you can sign in here.

The benefits...

A Scoilnet account will allow you to upload your resources or weblinks to Scoilnet as well as enabling you to share and add resources to a favourites listing. Users who have a Scoilnet Account will also be able to fully access Scoilnet Maps and Census@School from home.
