Perpendicular bisector of a segment, using only compass and straight edge.

This tutorial looks at constructing the perpendicular bisector of a line segment using a compass and straight edge only. This construction is required by all higher and ordinary level students at both Junior and Senior Cycle.

 

Prior Knowledge: Students should know how to use a compass to draw an arc, check a right angle with a set square & protractor and use a compass to compare lengths.
