St Andrew's Day

Saturday, 30 November 2019

St. Andrew's Day is the feast day of Saint Andrew and it is celebrated on the 30th of November. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, and St. Andrew's Day is therefore the national day of Scotland. - a bit like the way St Patrick's day is the national day of Ireland!

The country recently voted to remain part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

In the classroom: Do a project on 'tartan' and discover the different tartans for the different clans. For a Maths and Geography class measure the distance between Ireland and Scotland. What do you know about Scottish food?
