The goal of World Hapiness Day is to make the world a happier place.
In 2014, Ireland dropped from 10th to 18th happiest country in the world, how can this be reversed? Encouraging happiness, well being and kind behaviour in schools can make a big difference. Evidence shows that promoting kindness and happiness among young people directly affects social and emotional wellbeing and reduces disruptive behavior.
In the classroom: Take a look at the resources on the Action for Happiness website. Some are epecifically aimed at schools. A flyer was produced to promote the day in Ireland and also has some useful guggestions for engaging pupils.
