Yom Kippur

Starts on the evening of the 29th and ends on the evening of the 30th . Also known as the 'Day of Atonement' and is the holiest day of the year for Jewish people. Repentance for sins is the theme of the day and Jewish people will spend most of the day in the synagogue praying.

In the classroom: Learn more about Judaism and specifically why Yom Kippur is so important. In Geography class research which countries in the world have the most Jewish people. In History learn about the Holocaust.
