Pentecost Sunday is one of the most ancient feasts of the Christian Church. It is celebrated 50 days after Easter Sunday (seventh Sunday after Easter) and marks the completion of Christ's mission on earth. It is also know as Whitsun or Whit Sunday and is often called the 'birthday of the church'. the Monday after Pentecost Sunday is a holiday in many European countries.
