Do mhuintir na hÉireann ; Is mian linn – paistí Scoil Naomh Fionán, aitheantas a thabhairt d’fhir agus mná naoi gcéad déag is a sé déag as an íobairt a rinne siad ag troid ar son saoirse na hÉireann. Geallaimid ár mbuíochas dóibh.
Scoil Naomh Fionán is built on respect and we acknowledge the role of teachers, children, parents and the wider community in contributing to the running of our school and its central place in the local community. As a school, we pledge to make our school a positive and respectful centre of learning. We call on students and staff to believe in each other, respect each other and support each other as we proceed on our learning journey together.
We are very proud that our school is a safe, warm and welcoming school where children are cherished and cared for by a team of dedicated staff. We promise to care for one another and celebrate both our similarities and our differences. We strongly believe that no person has the right to hurt another. We do not accept or tolerate bullying in our school and we encourage everybody to unite and take a stand against bullying. No person has the right to hurt another. We have an obligation to report bullying when it is witnessed and we encourage people not to be bystanders. We will continue to work together and be a school that sets a positive example amongst peers and we will strive to ensure that inclusion and equality remain at the heart of our school community.
We recognise the hardship and suffering of children at home and around the world, particularly those who are fleeing their war torn homes. We, the future generation of this great country, share our hopes and dreams for a world where all races, religions and cultures can live together harmoniously and where each child can enjoy the simple things in life that we sometimes take for granted. As we celebrate the freedom of our nation, we ask our Government to think about these people and hear their cry for help. We are thankful for the freedom, peace and safety we enjoy in Ireland today and we hope that we can help others to experience this too.
We believe that an education holds the key to our future. At Scoil Naomh Fionán, we believe each child should be included in every lesson, game and activity and in this way, we can all benefit from a rich and holistic education. We believe that each child should be praised for their contribution and we hope that the future generations of our country are enabled to receive the same high standard of education and care that we experience daily.
We are very lucky that our school is situated on the coast of Ireland and we are very proud of the beautiful sea view that we enjoy from our classroom. Therefore, we recognise the importance of caring for our environment and working together to ensure that our country is respected and cared for. Our school strives to promote environmental friendliness by carpooling, walking, taking the bus and cycling whenever possible. As we prepare for our fourth Green Flag, we encourage people to recycle and preserve our country for generations to come.
Scoil Naomh Fionán is a healthy happy school! We aim to stay fit and healthy by participating in daily sport and exercise. Every morning we enjoy exercise in the yard together and this gives us lots of energy for the day ahead. We recognise the importance of eating healthy nutritious food and we continue to remain active and healthy as we promote positive health and wellbeing in our school.
We acknowledge the lengths that our ancestors went to keep our language and culture alive and today we celebrate it. As a school we strive to speak our native language throughout the day and we enjoy celebrating our unique traditions in sport and music. We will continue to promote our rich culture and heritage and in doing so we honour those who fought for our freedom. Gaeilge has been and always will be a very important part of our curriculum and we will continue to promote the use of Gaeilge in our school. ‘Tír gan teanga tír gan anam’.
Mar dhaoine táimid bródúil as ár gcultúr, oidhreacht agus traidisiún. Geallaimid go gcaomhnóimid ár n-ionannas aonair agus go gcosnóimid é do na glúine atá le teacht. Iarraimid beannacht dé ar ár náisiún. Cuirimid ár muinín I nDia go mbeidh sochaí síochánta againn agus pobal cothrom cóir.
