Irish citizens, we the children of Shraigh N.S, recognise the positive changes in our country over the last 100 years. We need to continue to make our country a better place for all its citizens. We will do the best we can for our country and its citizens.
We as children declare that every Irish person should be treated equally. Citizens have equal rights to a good education/employment. We would like our country to be a place where opportunities are available to all who are willing to work and will get a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work. We would like a society which will have an efficient health care system that is available to all our citizens and that there won’t be any waiting lists for people who are sick and in need of immediate attention.
The Irish Republic should take care of the homeless people. Everyone deserves a home and food and water every day. All citizens whether they are male or female, black or white should feel safe in Ireland. We should respect and help refugees and also raise money for refugees and homeless people. Companies should accept more people for employment and schools should be free of charge. For the future, we should give free, clean running water to every citizen. We will also make sure everyone feels safe in a friendly, warm environment.
We ask that all people respect the earth on which we live. We must respect the environment. Pollution must be stopped and trees must be replaced. We proclaim the right of all people to live in an unspoilt area and we will cherish our green surroundings. We declare that every citizen play their part in putting a halt to climate change so as to protect our future generations from environmental disasters.
We demand fair and just laws for all our citizens. We want to feel safe in our homes, work place, schools and environment. We want a well-resourced modern garda force to protect the whole country. We want less crime around Ireland and we want to feel safe and secure.
We must ensure that our Irish traditions, language and sport are central to the Irish population and are passed on to our children and grandchildren. We welcome all peoples who would like to become citizens of our country and we hope they will be enveloped in our Irish culture and language.
