We, the pupils of Inver NS, are proud citizens of the Republic of Ireland and in this year of reflection and remembrance, we took the opportunity to create a proclamation for our generation.
Firstly, we would like to acknowledge the courage, bravery and devotion of all those who have contributed to our nation over the past 100 years, to make it the Ireland we have today.
These are our aspirations, our goals and our visions for the future of our country.
We want to live in a country where all people are treated equally. Everybody, regardless of their nationality, culture, religious beliefs, opinions and traditions, should be respected. We strongly feel that everybody is entitled to feel happy and be themselves.
As a Green school, we believe that the people of Ireland should cherish its environment by burning less fossil fuels and reducing their carbon footprint. We pledge that we in Inver NS will work together to reduce, reuse and recycle. If we can do it, so can you. As a country, let's make a difference together!
As an Active school, we believe that everyone should lead an active and healthy life to enhance our physical and mental wellbeing. We pledge in Inver National School that we will try to lead healthy, active lives and encourage others to do so too.
We believe that everybody should have a place they can call home. Each person deserves a warm bed to sleep in and adequate food and water. We would like to see an end to homelessness and poverty in our country. We aspire to an Ireland where opportunities are available to all those who are willing and able to work.
We long for a country where each person, regardless of their circumstances, have access to a free, high quality health care system. We need a health care system that can provide an adequate number of doctors and nurses, beds and services in hospitals, with no waiting lists.
We hope for an Ireland where the elderly and vulnerable get the respect and care they deserve. Facilities and social events for the elderly vulnerable members of our communities should be provided so they no longer feel alone, neglected or isolated.
We believe that every child should have the right to free education and to all the resources and support services it needs to reach its full potential.
We, the students of Inver National School are the future of this nation and we pledge to live our lives so that our vision becomes the reality of the future.
The following people from our school community worked on producing our New Proclamation.
