Today on the 15th of March 2016, we, the pupils of Scoil Naomh Moling Glynn are proud to celebrate the centenary of 1916.
We hope that future generations will be proud of the Ireland that we will strive to create.
Our wish is that all Irish people will live in peace and harmony. People from all cultures and traditions will work together for the common good of all its citizens.
We will strive to provide an efficient and fair health system for all our citizens regardless of financial status, age or cultural background. All Irish citizens will be treated with respect and dignity in our hospitals. Waiting lists and lying on trolleys for endless hours will be a thing of the past.
Our elderly will receive the respect they deserve and they will have the opportunity to be cared for in their own homes where they will feel safe and secure.
Young people of 21st century Ireland will grow up in a society where excess alcohol and drugs are abhorred. Ireland of 2016 will ensure its youth are protected from bullying and peer pressure.
Every citizen of Ireland will have the opportunity to work in their own country. They will not be forced to emigrate, leaving family and friends behind.
We demand that the government solve the problem of homelessness. We believe every person has the right to shelter and not spend their days and nights sleeping on the streets.
We are proud of our traditions and culture. We believe that our Irish language, Gaelic games and our Irish music, songs and dances are unique to us and should be passed onto future generations.
Let us all work together to make Ireland a better place for future generations.
