Changes in special needs supports announced

Minister Bruton is to implement a new model for allocating resource teachers to schools, following policy advice from the NCSE and piloting of new model in 47 schools.

A 7.2% increase in Resource Teachers will see 900 extra teachers provided to support the introduction of the new model which will commence in schools from September 2017.
