Primary schools are invited to step into a world of wonder this May at International Literature Festival Dublin, which has announced its Schools Programme line-up for 2025.
From Friday, 16th to Sunday, 25th May 2025, Merrion Square Park transforms into a vibrant literary haven, offering schoolchildren from junior infants to sixth class the chance to experience electrifying performances from renowned authors and illustrators, hands-on workshops, and interactive sessions spanning language, culture, nature, dinosaurs, fantastical worlds, and the visual arts.
In an age where screens often replace storybooks, ILFD’s Schools Programme is a powerful celebration of reading, storytelling, and creativity—essential for nurturing the readers, writers, and thinkers of the future. A perfect setting for young minds to explore, the festival offers not only inspiring events which take place indoors in special festival marquees, but also a safe, beautiful outdoor space with a playground, picnic areas, and an on-site bookshop to keep the magic alive long after the day’s adventures.
