MyEU50 Youth Competition

Calling all Teachers! My European Union, My Ireland, My EU50!

To mark 50 years of EU membership in Ireland, the Government of Ireland in partnership with European Movement Ireland are looking for young people across the nation to showcase their creativity and share their ideas about Ireland and Europe

We have €2,000 up for grabs for the winning entries for Primary and Post-Primary level.

Primary Level:

We are challenging primary level pupils to get creative about the 26 other EU countries! Pick a Member State based on facts files you can find on our website here and in the most colourful and creative way possible, tell us a story about that country.

It could be about their culture or history or currency or whatever you think is fun and interesting!

Share with us three to five pieces of amazing information that you have learned about the EU country that you will chose. This can be done whatever way you think is the most creative! You can tell your story with photos, a poster, a collage, a poem, a song, a short story, a dance, playing music, or even a comic strip!

Post Primary:

We are challenging post-primary level students to get creative by shining a spotlight on how the EU affects their school, or their community.

Individual students, or a group of up to 6 students, are asked to put your journalist hats on and make a short 2-to-5-minute video ‘news feature’ to explore how the EU affects your school and community. Examples and background information on potential topics can be found here!

You can interview fellow classmates, teachers, family members, friends, people from your community or even MEPs!

So, join us and let’s get creative about Ireland and Europe!

For Primary and Post-Primary Level submissions, deadline to enter is 11 November 2022.
