Two new Leaving Certificate subjects (Climate Action and Sustainable Development and Drama Film and Theatre Studies) will be introduced in schools on a phased basis from the start of the 2025/26 school year.
Schools that submit an application may be selected to be part of the first phase of schools in which the two new subjects are taught.
Around 40 schools for each subject will be selected to be in Phase One schools introducing Climate Action and Sustainable Development and Drama Film and Theatre Studies in the 2025/26 school year. The final number will be determined as applications are reviewed.
Schools interested in being in Phase One of Climate Action and Sustainable Development and / or Drama Film and Theatre Studies should review the subject specifications and the information booklets below in advance of submitting an application.
Applications will close on 19 April 2024 at 11am.
Applications that are submitted after the application date will not be considered.
Selected schools will be notified in May 2024
