Sligo school to represent Ireland in the F1 in Schools Finals in Singapore

A team from St Attracta's Community School in Tubbercurry have won the F1 in Schools title for 2015.

Team Verus Racing from the Co Sligo school were declared the overall winners of the 2015 F1 in Schools Technology Challenge, powered in Ireland by the Irish Computer Society at the National Finals held in Dublin Castle as part of Tech Week. It is the first time that a school from connacht has won the overall title.

Verus Racing are a group of three fifth year students: Gerard Hunt, Niall O'Donnell and Captain Eoin Leonard.

The team fought off competition from 23 other finalist teams from all over Ireland to claim the National Title and trophy, €2,000 in prize money, and the opportunity to represent Ireland in the 2015 World Championships in Singapore alongside the 2015 Singapore Airlines Grand Prix in September this year.
