Wishes for Our World is a fantastic resource based on a beautiful letter from a grandfather to his grandchild, written by award-winning author Michael Morpurgo. Designed for ages 9-11 the resource explores the issue of climate change in a thought-provoking and inspiring way. The website includes a 5 minute film and accompanying teachers notes/lesson ideas to encourage pupils to express their feelings about the world in a creative way.

This resource should enable a child to:

  • analyse in writing his/her reactions to personal experiences
  • express a personal reaction to ideas, emotions and images encountered in literature
  • express in writing reactions to music, artwork, films, television programmes and videos

Suggestions for use: Lesson ideas in the teachers notes which accompany this video include letter writing, oral language and group work activities.
